A GIFT of £3,000 has been donated to support the care and treatment of cancer patients.

The money has been presented to The Christie from Knutsford Town Twinning Association which has been largely inactive for some time.

Money held in the accounts had become dormant at the bank.

It was therefore decided to put any remaining funds to good use as a donation to The Christie at Macclesfield.

A presentation took place at Knutsford Heritage Centre.

Representatives of the Town Twinning Association presented £3,044 to Louise Dawson from The Christie.

Clive Heath, from the Town Twinning Association said: “Sadly former chairman Tony Want has died and secretary Margaret Baker no longer lives in Knutsford and was unable to attend, but both were involved in the decision that the funds should go The Christie.”
