BURGLARS broke into a property in Knutsford in the early hours of the morning and drove off in a stolen car.

The break-in happened in the Bexton area on Sunday, August 27 at 3.40am.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Intruders gained access to the property through a side door by removing a door panel and once inside, they removed the alarm off the wall.

“A vehicle has also been stolen from the property.”

The police are appealing for information from anyone living in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.

Detectives are asking residents to check CCTVs to see if they may have recorded evidence which could help identify the culprits.

Police are warning people to be vigilant and step up on home security measures.

When you go out always lock all your doors and windows.

Keep keys away from letterboxes to stop burglars ‘fishing’ for them.

Don’t leave your bin out where they can be used as a step to climb over a wall, fence or gate.

Use timers, lights and radios if you need to be away from home overnight.
