HOME cook Kritsana Hatsadee is hoping to give Knutsford residents something new to try with desserts from her native Thailand.

After moving to England before Covid hit in early 2020, the 38-year-old turned to the kitchen during lockdown.

Now, after three years of cooking up delicacies in her own kitchen, Kritsana has opened a new stall - Kanom Thai - at Knutsford Market Hall to bring her sweet treats to a wider audience.

Kanom Thai will be offering a selection of authentic and handmade Thai cakes, pastries and desserts, including her signature mooncakes, a traditional south east Asian delicacy.

Kritsana said: “I am excited to be at Knutsford Market Hall and offer a snapshot of authentic Thai sweet treats.

"As a native of of Udon Thani, Thailand, I grew up learning from multiple generations of outstanding cooks and am proud to share my cuisine with the people of Knutsford.

"I'm trying to show off Thai desserts, which is something perhaps people won't know about.

"People know about Thai food, but I want them to know about the desserts as well and give them something new to try."

Kritsana is supported by her husband Aaron Davies, whom she met while on holiday in the UK in 2018.

She is excited to open her new stall and has received a warm welcome from her neighbouring traders.

"I'm relly excited about setting up in the market and the people around her are really friendly," Kritsana added.

"People at the market have been very welcoming."

"Eventually I want to do Thai food. I love cooking and making things."

Sandra Curties, town centre manager, said: "We are delighted to have Kritsana join our Market Hall family.

"With the addition of the dessert range from Kanom Thai, we have a dynamic and unique food offering in the market that is a must to experience."

Knutsford Market Hall is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8am to 4pm.

Other traders at the market include: Style Loft Boutique; Med Olives; Grandad’s Attic; The Market Butcher; M&J Cards; Jonty’s Fruit & Veg; The Market Café; The Market Hall Barber; Sabrina’s Baby Boutique; Radchester Garden Ornaments; Slipped Discs; and Nyx Cat Crystals.
