CARING residents are helping Knutsford people in crisis.

Families who have moved into Park Gate Village on Hamman Drive have filled four big boxes of goods for Hope Central Foodbank.

Items including tinned vegetables and fruit, tinned meats, sauces, drinks and biscuits have been generously donated.

House builder Bellway also gave the charity £250.

Ian Roberston, a trustee at Hope Central, says: “It was wonderful being contacted by Bellway offering help, both monetary and much needed food items.

“Support from local businesses is so important.

“We help around 250 people weekly at our foodbanks and with the cost of living remaining high, are committed to providing our services to as many people as possible for as long as they need it.”

Hope Central is a Christian charity run by local churches and provides emergency food parcels for individuals and families.

The charity also works to help eliminate the underlying causes of poverty such as debt, unemployment, money management and addictions. They provide professional support and safe environments for people to meet and address these issues.

A team of 40 volunteers is based at a community hub, working in partnership with The Welcome in Longridge.

The charity also provides hands-on support in Wilmslow and Handforth Grace Yarlett, sales director at Bellway, said: “There is a real community spirit in Knutsford and at Park Gate Village, a vibrant new community has been created. “Our team and residents at the development came together to do something good in the locality and we are delighted to be able to help Hope Central.”

Bellway is currently building a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes at Park Gate Village. To support the Foodbank visit hopecentral.org.uk.
