KNUTSFORD Hockey Club have held their end of 2022-23 season awards night.

As well as player-of-the-year, most improved and goalscoring gongs, recognition was paid to loyal servants.

Karl Stanier, junior James Arch and James Routs each received two individual accolades.

Each captain named their player of the year, which were revealed to be Ollie Lasham for the men's first XI, Stanier for the men's seconds, Arch for the men's thirds and Sarah Fielding for the women's team.

And each team also voted for their own players' player of the year, with the men's first XI winner being Simon Locke, the men's seconds recipient being Stanier, the men's thirds winner being Arch and the women's recipient being Liz Ball.

The most improved women's player award went to Jenn Borradaile, while the club's leading goalscorer was James Routs, who was also presented with the coveted Chairman's Award by Nick Pedlow.

Darren Cook's performances in the nets resulted in him being named the best goalkeeper.

A lifetime achievement honour was handed to Janice Tasho, following the completion of her 25th year as secretary of the club.

Janice has also been responsible for setting up the women's section in 2000, along with working with the juniors of the club and fundraising.
