BURGLARS forced their way into a house in Wilmslow but fled empty-handed.
Police suspect the offenders may have been trying to steal an Audi.
The break-in happened between the evening of December 27 and 10.30am on December 28.

Police say offenders snapped the lock on the front door of a house to gain entry,
Nothing was stolen but it is believed that an Audi may have been the intended target.
Officers have been on high visibility patrol around the streets of Wilmslow following a spate of break-ins to reassure residents.
A TV and drill were stolen from a house under renovation on Strawberry Lane between 5pm on December 21 and 2pm on December 22.
Police are offering crime prevention advice and urge residents to review their security.
Internal door bolts, steering wheel bolts and collapsible bollards are some of the ways householders can keep their homes and cars safe.
