Improveasy, an energy efficient home upgrades company based in Altrincham, have won a contract with Cheshire East, Cheshire West, and Warrington councils to deliver fully funded home improvements to qualifying residents.

You can now benefit from solar panels, air source heat pumps, and all types of insulation at no cost. If you are on certain benefits or have a combined household income of £30,000 or below - you can apply now for the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG). This grant is given on a first come first served basis as the funding is limited. People need to apply now before losing out on this money saving opportunity.

Founded in 2011, Improveasy has helped to deliver government funding for home installations for over 10 years nationwide. They can check if you qualify, assess your property, and install the work. You do not need to own your home. In the current energy crisis, this scheme allows people the chance to save hundreds a year on their energy bills.

HUG is a government scheme aimed toward people who cannot easily afford home upgrades themselves. The government awards funding to local authorities to help them upgrade energy inefficient, low-income households. Your local council must bid to win the funding, and it is allocated regionally. Landlords can also apply for the scheme on behalf of their tenants.

  • You can qualify for the funding if:
  • Your home is OFF the gas grid
  • You live in a property with poor energy efficiency (EPC ratings of E, F, or G)

You, or someone in your household, is in receipt of any of the following benefits:

  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Your combined household income is below £30,000
