A DREAM to create a sanctuary where women can relax and be pampered has come true.

Shel Parker and Michelle Tremaine have just opened their own beauty salon, The Beauty Club, on King Street.

The business partners have already been overwhelmed by such a warm, positive response from customers of all ages.

Shel, 30, said: “It has been amazing, we’ve been so busy.

“We have fitted out the salon completely ourselves. It is bespoke, everything has been made to fit our purpose.”

Shel was working as a hospital phlebotomist when she met Michelle Tremaine, 48.

The pair started talking about lashes and say they ‘just bonded’ and decided to work together.

“I trained as a beauty consultant when I was 16,” said Shel. “I have worked in different salons.

“Michelle retrained when she was 30 and has already had a salon of her own.

"This is a dream for us."

In January, the duo plan to launch a VIP membership club and offer subscriptions for treatments.

“Clients with a gold card will receive a discount, invitations to the launch of new products and exclusive offers,” said Shel.

“We will also offer subscriptions so clients will have the option to pay monthly instead of paying for each treatment.

“We both absolutely love our job, it is so rewarding.

“There is nothing better than making people feel better.”

Michelle said: “I have had a salon before so my experience has helped.

“We just want people to feel welcome straight away, as soon as they come in.

“We have tried to create a friendly environment.”

Fizz and canopies were offered to guests at a launch event when clients were able to have a sneak peek before the salon opened.

Shel said: “Clients say it is a really cosy, welcoming, peaceful place.

“It is a sanctuary.”
