THE family of a 19-year-old woman who died after a multi-vehicle crash on the M6 have paid tribute to their 'beautiful girl'.

Chloe Williams was a passenger in a Volkswagen Polo when it was involved in a collision with three other vehicles on Friday, December 2.

The crash occurred at around 5.15pm that day on the northbound carriageway between junction 16, for Crewe, and junction 17, for Sandbach.

Despite the best efforts of those involved, Chloe, from Dudley, sadly died in hospital.

A spokesperson for her family, who are being supported by specialist police officers, said: "We have lost our beautiful girl in the most tragic way.

"She was about to start her dream career and has now had all that taken away. We ask as a family to be allowed to grieve in private."

A 27-year-old man, from Rossendale, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone with information or dashcam footage from around the time of the collision to come forward.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact Cheshire Police via the force's website quoting IML 1426483 or call 101.
