A NEW eco-friendly dog shop has opened in Knutsford.

Doggo General Store on King Street only offers UK or handmade products.

Owner Rob Benson, 44, said: “We won’t stock anything that has travelled five hours on a plane or been made on the other side of the world.

“We have an eco policy and try and do everything with a bit of a conscience.”

The company, B&V Trading is named after his beloved Labrador Busta, who sadly died, and his Dachshund Vivienne.

“What makes us different is that we are a really independent company,” said Rob, who now has a new Dalmatian called Cotton.

“We are on our own so if someone comes in and says they would like a particular item for their dog, we will go off and get it.

“We are a local company and want to learn people’s names and dogs’ names and their favourite treats.”

Rob has had a stall at Altrincham market for eight years and opened a shop in Sale during lockdown.
