KIND-HEARTED bikers who deliver food parcels to those in need are looking forward to helping more people after officially launching their own website.

Ride to Raise is a Winsford-based project which provides care packages and support to the needy across Cheshire and Merseyside.

They also offer motorcycle social clubs and adventure experiences to bring people together, form new friendships and combat loneliness.

On Saturday, the group held an event to celebrate the official launch of its website, which is hoped will help people learn about the project and get involved.

The new website comes after Ride to Raise received more than £15,000 in donations from the community via Spacehive - a crowdfunding initiative with Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Winsford town councillors Ernie Welch and John Malam attended the event at The Old Star pub alongside their colleagues and Cheshire West councillors Mandy Clare, Malcolm Gaskill and Mike Baynham.

Simon Boone, from Ride to Raise, said: "All involved with Ride to Raise are delighted at the support from local people, organisations, the borough council, Cllr Mandy Clare and other local councillors who attended our launch.

"We are looking forward to putting on many events and helping as many people as possible in future.

"Ride to Raise shall continue to provide care packages and support for all those needing it and shall work closely with our partners and friends to achieve that.

"We shall also be organising ride-outs and mini adventures and people can apply using via our website.

"Our group seeks to improve the health and wellbeing of all those we help and those who take part in our events, ride-outs and mini adventures and wants to encourage people to participate."

The next Ride to Raise event takes place this coming Saturday (September 3).

Bikers will be leaving the Ye Olde No. 3 pub in Little Bollington for a ride out to Longnor.

This is followed by a motorbike show, live music, raffle, open mic with camping available for those wish to stay over.
