GUESTS stepped out in style in beautiful evening dresses and dinner suits for a special evening.
Retired police officer Jo Whitehead hosted a ‘Dress to Impress’ celebration in Knutsford and raised almost £4,000 for cancer research.
A three-course dinner was a sell-out at The Old Session House on Princess Street.
Jo said: “My long time best friend passed away due to cancer so I wanted to do something in her memory and also raise money for cancer research.
“I decided to make this a special occasion.
“Everyone loved getting dressed up which they haven’t done for years.
“I’m already being asked when the next one is.”

Knutsford mum-of-two Jo served with Greater Manchester Police for 17 years until she retired last year.
With the help of friends Brian Gowing, Sally Evans and James Tipton, she spent months painstakingly organising the event.
Jo was overwhelmed by the generosity of local shopkeepers and traders.
“We managed to obtain 58 lovely raffle prizes,” said Jo.
“This shows how close knit the community of Knutsford is. Businesses clubbed together to make this event such a success.
“Everyone had a great time and staff at the Sessions went the extra mile on the night.
“Food was fantastic and they dressed the room amazingly.
“I have handed over £3886 to cancer research and donations are still coming in.
“A pub has donated £100 and people have been giving me money on the street.
“We will raise more than £4,000. I would like to thank everyone for all their generosity and support.”
