A COFFEE shop owner has been praised for the success of his business as it continues to go from strength to strength.

When Mark Lee-Kilgariff launched Tatton Perk from a distinctive bright orange van at Booths Park three and half years ago, he couldn’t have dreamed it would go as well as it has.

Despite the pandemic hitting many small businesses, former civil servant Mark has bucked the trend and not only been voted the number one place for coffee Cheshire on Trip Advisor, also opened a permanent shop at the business park in April.

Speaking to the Guardian about his success so far, Mark said he was thrilled with how it was all going.

“It's been great since we opened,” he said.

“People love the decor - the hand drawn wallpaper inspired by the gardens and our history gets lots of love.

“The coffee and food have been really well received and we always appreciate customer feedback as it helps develop our offering.

“Based on comments, we've added new breakfast options (sourdough grilled sandwiches - bacon, and a veggie option of avocado, hummus, tomato, chilli and crispy onion, which is super popular).

“We'll be adding a couple of new sandwich options soon - always trying to reach the perfect balance for our customers and keep things fresh.”

Iced drinks have also been added to the menu, including a frozen chocolate frappe, iced mocha frappes and a special white chocolate and raspberry frappe.

“We love being part of Bruntwood and couldn't wish for a more beautiful location than Booths Park,” he added.

“Every member of the team who works at the coffee shop comments on the gorgeous ornamental gardens and the water features.

“We even have a view of the lake so it’s pretty special.”

Charlotte Wild, head of retail and leisure at Bruntwood Works, added: “It’s a pleasure to see Mark and his team move into the shop and expand their offering.

“Tatton Perk is a great example of how well collaborations between local businesses can work.

“Mark has stayed true to his ethos of working with local suppliers to produce a great tasting menu.

“It’s been a delight to work with Mark and his team and we know they will go from strength to strength.

“I’m sure all regular Booths Park goers and workspace customers are delighted to see them in a permanent home on the estate, joining Philpotts in providing our customers with a range of lunch options at Booths Park.”
