NEW plans have been submitted to build two bungalows on the site of a former slaughterhouse in Wilmslow after a previous application was refused.

Cheshire East’s northern planning committee refused an application in March from YFT Developments Ltd to build two four-bedroom bungalows on the site, saying the developer was trying to squeeze 'a quart into a pint pot'.

The council’s planning officers had recommended that scheme be approved.

Now another application has been submitted for two three-bedroom bungalows on the land adjacent to Yew Tree Farm, in Moor Lane.

A design and access statement submitted by Jay Ashall Partnership on behalf of the application, states: “The proposals include the demolition of the existing building on site and associated feeding towers and their replacement with two new detached bungalows on the site.

“The proposed bungalows have been sensitively designed to collectively be of a smaller volume to that of the building to be demolished.

“The footprint of both properties has been reduced and the properties have been reduced to three-bedroom bungalows.”

It continues: “The new dwellings have been sited so that they are both fronting the access drive creating a small residential courtyard and have been brought in from the wider landscape towards the surrounding built form.

“The properties have now been moved further apart and the access to the field beyond has been relocated to between the two properties to create an open gap between the built form with parking space also being relocated to between the two properties.”

The application, 22/2302M, can be viewed on the planning portal on the Cheshire East website and the last date for submitting comments is July 20.
