VOLUNTEERS who have helped to save Knutsford residents’ lives in emergencies have been awarded special medals to thank them for their service.

Four first responders with the Knutsford Community First Response Trust (KCFRT) have been awarded Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee medals for continuing to provide their life-saving service during the pandemic.

Awards were presented to Sal Thompson, Jane Gibbons, Pauline Coffey and Geoff Dalton.

In association with the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), the first responders help to save lives in emergency situations before the ambulance arrives.

Founded in 2022, the team works with the ambulance service to provide a rapid response to those in need.

Adrian Rees, KCFRT chairman, said: "We are delighted that our First Responder Team have been awarded this fantastic acknowledgement of our support to the Knutsford community.

“KCFRT have been providing first responder support to the Knutsford community for 20 years.

“These trained volunteers have saved many, many lives over this period."
Daren Mochrie, chief executive of NWAS, added: "On behalf of the NWAS Trust, I would like to add our thanks for your service and the care and compassion you deliver to your community every single day.

“I hope you enjoy wearing the medal and that you and your family will treasure it in the years to come.”
