WE had a paw-some time at DogFest’s Cheshire event today – the ultimate dog-friendly festival to enjoy with your furry pal.
The event, in partnership with ManyPets, took place at Tatton Park this weekend, with special guests, activities and plenty of retail therapy.
We took Rosie along to enjoy the festivities, because what better way to review the event than get a dog’s perspective!
There were more than 150 shopping stands available and Rosie’s nose dragged us to anything selling treats…
The variety of stalls available was really impressive – from collars, leads, harnesses and toys, to treats, food, pet portraits and travel crates.
We particularly loved one stall called Paw Couture and purchased Rosie a bow and me a matching scrunchie.
Another unique idea was getting a picture of your dog embroidered on clothing.
For those who are aren’t interested in the latest four-legged fashions, there was still lots on offer, including the great idea of a pet first aid kit for emergencies.
On-site there were 10 activities for adventurous dogs to try their paw at, including flyball, dog diving, agility, obedience, haybale racing, a fun dog show and dog walks.
Some dogs looked like they were having a ball, and we saw them launching themselves into the water at the dog diving activity to retrieve their ball.
But for more reserved dogs (like Rosie!) there were smaller activities to enjoy, like a splash zone with paddling pools and a ball pit.
There was expert advice on behaviour and demonstrations from dog trainers, including TikTok sensation Lucy Heath who gave some top tips on how to get your dog to perform some of her well-known tricks.
We think Rosie might need a little more practice... but we’re sure she was listening intently!
When it came to lunch time, there was a great range to choose from.
Rosie was very interested in the different smells coming from the burgers, pizza and other catering vans, but instead she enjoyed one of her treats from Earth Animal.
DogFest is a brilliant day out to enjoy with your furry best friend, meeting other dogs of all shapes and sizes, appreciating the amazing pet-related businesses out there, supporting dog charities and even learning a thing or two from the experts.
