Jennifer was also shortlisted for both the 2020 and 2021 Scottish Portrait Awards.

Jennifer's still life paintings are a personal response to her environment in terms of colour, light and space, and explore the distinctive characteristics of oil paint, primarily but not exclusively, in studies featuring flowers, collated objects and photographs.

Many of Jennifer’s still-lifes are inspired by well-known Scottish painters, such as Joan Eardley, Ann Redpath and J D Fergusson.

Her love of colour has developed over the years, and looking at the balance of shapes, colours and tonal values, Jennifer sometimes exaggerates perspective and enhances colour in her artwork.

The exhibition runs until Saturday, May 28, at the showroom at St Ann’s House, Market Place, off King Street.
