A DRIVER has been hit with a court penalty of almost £500 for failing to have control of a car.
Joseph Shenton, 21, of Knutsford Road, Alderley Edge, had faced a charge of using a handheld mobile phone whilst driving an Audi on June 10, last year.
However this offence was withdrawn by Crewe magistrates on May 12 and replaced with a charge of not being in position to have proper control of a vehicle.

Shenton denied that he failed to have control of an Audi on Knutsford Road on June 10, last year.
After listening to the evidence, magistrates found the defendant guilty.
Shenton was fined £200 and ordered to pay £250 costs and £34 victim surcharge.
His driving licence was also endorsed with three points.
The defendant was granted permission to pay the £484 court penalty at a rate of £250 per month, starting on May 31.
