KNUTSFORD FC have done it – they have won their relegation battle.
Billinge, following their 4-1 loss at Lostock Gralam on Tuesday night, cannot now catch Reds, who will finish their Cheshire Football League Premier Division campaign third from bottom and safe from the drop.
All had looked lost for Knutsford until their third manager of the year, former player Nick Ward, was was put in charge in February.
"It's a hell of a turnaround and great credit to the manager and his players and his new lads," said Knutsford FC chairman Jimmy Evans.
"It has been a nightmare season but Nick Ward has come in and the last eight games have been fantastic. It's been a big effort."
Reds completed their campaign by winning six successive matches which has proven to ensure the Manchester Road outfit will be playing top-flight football again in 2022-23.
