KNUTSFORD Tennis Club's first events of the season were dedicated to the Ukrainian refugees arriving in the town.
Members have raised more than £900 to help support those coming to Knutsford from war-torn Ukraine.
The regular Friday morning players organised a tennis and lunch event, while the ‘KTC Members Open Tournament’ was held the following day.
Knutsford hosts and organisers, Sarah Flannery and Sarah Ganczarski, along with three recently arrived refugees – Tanya, Illya (her son) and Angelika – came along to the Friday event and were given a warm welcome by KTC members.
They were also able to enjoy some of the home cooked savouries and cakes that had been prepared for lunch.
A club statement reads: "The refugees have been through so much – loved ones in Ukraine still in danger, their lives turned upside down and so much uncertainty about the future.
"KTC hope that they will have felt a little bit of normality visiting the club. Other events are planned in the coming months to welcome the refugees into our community."
