A MAN has been banned from driving after failing to provide a specimen for a breath test.
Havva Deniz Onur, 40, of Fulshaw Park South, Wilmslow, denied failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on May 3.
The defendant had been asked by police for a breath test in Middlewich on September 5 last year.
After listening to the evidence, the court found Onur guilty of the offence.
Onur was fined £692 and ordered to pay £620 in court costs and a £69 victim surcharge.
The defendant was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months.
However, this disqualification will be reduced to 16 weeks if Onur satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
His driving licence was also endorsed.
Magistrates gave Onur until May 23 to pay the £1,381 bill.
