KNUTSFORD FC could not have done more at the back end of their season to try and avoid relegation.

Reds made it six successive wins under their third manager of the season Nick Ward when they completed their Cheshire League Premier Division campaign at home to Eagle Sports on Thursday.

Daniel Pemberton hit the net twice and substitute Liam Crellin-Myers also notched in a 3-0 success that continues to give Knutsford hope of completing their great escape act.

Chairman Jimmy Evans said: "Three wins against very tough opponents in six days is a fine finish to the season. Manager Nick Ward has done a terrific job winning 6 out of 8 games."

At the time of writing, the latest success and other teams' results over the bank holiday weekend leave Reds fourth from bottom on 33 points.

Daten, who had been in bottom spot for a large period, have started to pick up wins too but even if they win their last game of the season at home to Eagle Sports on Thursday night they cannot catch Knutsford and are guaranteed to finish in the bottom three.

Winstanley Warriors are currently four points adrift of Knutsford with four games remaining, while Billinge are now holding up the ladder nine points behind Reds with five matches remaining.

This Sunday, Knutsford FC are holding a Dave Jenyons memorial game, kick-off 11.30am, in honour of a good friend and volunteer at the club. The action will feature ex-players, veterans and pensioners.
