DESIGNER clothes and selection of new items are being sold to raise funds for refugees in Ukraine.

Volunteers have teamed up to organise a giant jumble sale at St John’s Church hall on Knutsford Road from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, April 9.

Organiser Lisa Johnson said: “When we saw lots of people donating stuff to go out to Poland that was deemed unsuitable and could not be taken, we realised that most of it would end up in landfill.

“We thought it would be much better to collect it all together, sell it and give them the money which will be much more useful.

“A 100 per cent of the proceeds we receive will be donated to the Disaster Emergency Committee.”

A massive selection of clothes for women and children, shoes, handbags and accessories will be on sale.

“We’ve got an absolute mountain of clothes,” said Lisa.

“A lot of brand new women’s clothing is really good quality, still with price tags and many items have designer labels.

“We’ve also got mountains of books, DVDs, pictures, cushions, curtains, crockery. Absolutely everything you’d find in a house.

“This has all been arranged by volunteers who just want to help.”

Admission to the jumble sale is £1.
