THE highest break of the season so far was achieved by Bruce Tulley during Knutsford and District Snooker League's latest Tuesday matches.

Tulley's brilliant break of 67 came in a 6-1 victory for Mobberley A over Tatton C, while a 4-3 win was achieved by Mere C over Mobberley C.

Mere C's victory was by the fine margin of just two aggregate points and came despite ton-plus frame scores by both Leung Yu and Alex Chaplin of Mobberley.

Thursday was a night that belonged to the underdogs as all four matches were won by the lower ranked teams.

Leaders Shaw Heath suffered only their third defeat of the season against Tatton B, for whom Andy Dunn scored 110 points.

That result gave second place Morley Green the chance to close the gap at the top of the table but they failed to capitalise, also losing 5-2 to Wilmslow Cons B.

Cup finalists Tatton A lost 6-1 to Mobberley B and Mere A defeated Wilmslow Cons A 4-3.
