ANOTHER charity cricket season has come to an end for Toft Taverners, but there is still time to celebrate the successes of 2021.

The team raises money to help Knutsford's older generations, and at the end of last year efforts accumulated in a special lunch for more than 75 diners.

And it was a group effort – Knutsford Library distributed the free tickets, Toft clubhouse hosted the event, and a taxi company even offered to help collect those who wanted to attend.

A spokesperson said: "Through the generous support of local clubs and companies, the Toft Taverners team had another bumper charity cricket season raising money to help Knutsford's elder generation.

"Unfortunately circumstances prevented the Taverners from running the seaside trip for our over 70s, so in December they hosted a lunch for 75 diners at Toft Cricket Club.

"It was a big hit for our community elders, with a lovely festive lunch accompanied by a glittering singing duo, an early visit from Santa and a madcap Christmas carol sing-along that kept everyone smiling.

"Taverners chairman Paul Raffo was delighted with Toft Cricket Club's support for the event and has been overjoyed with the kind feedback from those that attended the lunch."
