As Christmas fast approaches, it is time to start thinking of how to get rid of the rubbish that accumulates over the festive period.

Recycling centres in Cheshire East are open on most days, but the Christmas period differs slightly.

If you live in the borough you can use any local recycling centre free of charge to dispose of waste and recycling from your home.

Here we have included the opening hours of the household waste recycling centre in Knutsford so you can start planning your tip trips over Christmas.

The recycling centre is open on Bank Holidays except for Christmas Day.

The sites are free to use, but you may be asked for proof of address to prevent people from travelling to areas outside of Cheshire East.

If you have a van, pickup, commercial type 4x4 or use a trailer between 1.5 and 3.5 metres in length, you will need a household waste permit, which you can apply for here.
