HANDFORTH residents go the polls next month to vote for a new town councillor following the resignation of former chair Brian Tolver.
Two candidates are standing for the seat in the south ward for Handforth Town Council.
Ribia Nisa is standing for the Labour Party and Barry Cooke has filled in the description box as Englishman.
The vacancy has occurred following the resignation from the council last month of Brian Tolver. He quit as chair in April.
It was Mr Tolver who told stand-in clerk Jackie Weaver she had ‘no authority here’ during the infamous parish council meeting on Zoom which went viral after it descended into chaos last December.
The by-election will take place on Thursday December 23 and polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.
