DETAILS of a planned 107-home housing estate in Wilmslow have finally been revealed.

Story Homes and The Royal London Mutual Insurance Society were granted outline planning permission in 2018 for the residential development on land east of Alderley Road.

Now they have submitted a further planning application to Cheshire East Council containing details on the make up, layout and design of the proposed estate.

A planning statement, prepared by Avison Young on behalf of the applicants, says: "Story Homes propose to create a high-quality, high specification residential development on the land east of Alderley Road, Wilmslow.

"The reserved matters scheme seeks approval to the scale, layout, landscaping and appearance details for this residential development.

"It has been carefully and sensitively designed to a high standard, providing all the key elements to ensure the creation of a sustainable mixed community."

The estate, which will also include affordable homes, will be a mix one to five-bedroom detached and semi-detached properties, as well as one and two-bed apartments.

The scale of the dwellings ranges from two to four storeys, with one-storey garages.

The planning statement added: "A mix of brickwork and white-rendered elevations are proposed, examples of which can be found in the local area.

"Main dwellings which comprise red brickwork feature grey roof tiles, stone plinths and cills, and eaves brick detailing.

"Feature dwellings, which are rendered, include red roof tiles, tudor gable detail and low level dentilated band courses of red and blue brick.

"The layout of the proposed dwellings has allowed for generous public soft landscaping areas as well as private gardens for each property.

"The green parks are located within the developed area and are dictated by the location of mature existing vegetation that is being retained.

"An existing pond is within the south-eastern green park area with the remainder of the land being given over to wildflower meadow with the intention this will be cut annually or bi-annually as hay meadow."
