Health bosses in Knutsford have thanked staff, volunteers and patients following the successful rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination programme in the town.

The Knutsford Medical Partnership delivered more than 32,000 first and second vaccine doses as well as 7,600 booster jabs.

The GP surgery team and volunteers have worked since January to offer vaccination clinics at Knutsford Community Hospital as well as visiting care and residential homes.

The partnership's primary and community teams made more than 300 home visits to vaccinate their most vulnerable patients.

Knutsford Medical Partnership executive manager Samantha Pownall said: "We are extremely proud to have been able to deliver a successful vaccination programme to our local residents with minimal disruption to our healthcare services locally.

"The teams have worked incredibly hard to ensure continuity of services, including face to face, telephone and remote access appointments whilst undertaking the programme.

"As pressures grow within the NHS we are confident the national centres will continue to undertake a seamless booster vaccination programme for local patients allowing us to focus our attention on winter and the cold months ahead.

"We would like to thank all our staff, volunteers and patients for their support over the last 12 months of the programme and wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year."
