A PLASTICS firm has been fined £33,000 for breaching health and safety regulations.

Albis UK Limited, formerly of Montgomery Close, Parkgate Industrial Estate pleaded guilty at Greater Manchester Magistrates Court to failing to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of employees.

The company admitted that workers had been put at risk whilst clearing blockages in the autoloader on line 12 at the factory on October 10, 2018.

The firm was prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive. The case was heard on November 11.

Manchester and Salford magistrates fined Albis £33,000 and ordered the company to pay £3,684 costs and £170 victim surcharge.

The company, which employs 115 people, moved its operation to Booths Park off Chelford Road earlier this year after its previous site was sold in a £6.3 million deal.

The 113,820 sq ft warehouse and office complex was sold to Avjon 3 Limited through William Sillitoe, based in Wilmslow.
