A MAN who damaged two pairs of hair straighteners has been fined £400.

Ismail Lutan, of Hazelwood Road, Wilmslow, had previously pleaded not guilty to the offence and the case had been listed for trial at Stockport Magistrates Court.

However, the 29-year-old changed his plea to guilty and admitted destroying two pairs of GHD hair straighteners worth £500 on November 30, 2020 in Wilmslow.

The court hearing on November 9 heard that the defendant had replaced the damaged hair equipment so there was no request for compensation.

The defendant's guilty plea was taken into account when the sentence was imposed.

Lutan was fined £400 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £40 victim surcharge.

Magistrates said the court bill must be paid in full by December 7.
