A SCHOOL in Knutsford has secured a charity partnership to help vulnerable people living in the area.

Yorston Lodge Prep School has joined with Cheshire Community Foundation, helping residents in need receive vital support.

Both staff and pupils at the school are passionate fundraisers and have a dedicated charities club, created by the pupils to ensure they raise awareness and funds for local worthy causes.

This year Yorston Lodge has chosen to dedicate their fundraising activity to Cheshire Community Foundation, focusing specifically on the organisation’s Knutsford Fund.

Cheshire Community Foundation, which was established in 2012, connects people and organisations who would like to make a difference with those most in need of help, by raising funds to support hundreds of small charities and voluntary groups across Cheshire and Warrington.

The organisation ensures that money donated reaches the heart of the local communities that need it the most, tackling poverty, disadvantage and inequality and helping to build stronger, happier and more resilient communities.

Dan Hatfield, deputy head at Yorston Lodge Preparatory School said: "At Yorston Lodge we are passionate about giving our pupils the right tools to become responsible, ethical and informed global citizens and being part of an ongoing fundraising initiative is just one of the ways that we can help children to achieve this.

"By partnering with Cheshire Community Foundation both staff and pupils are able to support a range of charities in our local community which will be a fantastic achievement."

Zoe Sheppard, CEO of Cheshire Community Foundation added: "We are absolutely delighted that Yorston Lodge has made our Knutsford Fund the beneficiary of their fundraising activity this year.

"It will be a privilege to ensure that funds raised by the children, their friends and their families have the maximum impact in helping some of the most vulnerable people living locally."
