Bonfire Night 2021 is almost upon us and celebrations are set to return in Cheshire this year.

Covid restrictions put pay to many events last year, but if no changes to government guidelines are made, they will be able to go ahead this October and November.

Here we have rounded up some of the events taking place in and around mid Cheshire.

KNUTSFORD

Knutsford Scouts Bonfire and Firework Display.

A Knutsford Scouts spokeswoman said: "After continuing running virtual sessions throughout the pandemic to support our young people, Scouts are now able to camping again, offering a chance for members to develop more life skills and experience new activities.

"To support Scouts across the district, the Knutsford Scouts Bonfire and Fireworks display is back for 2021."

The event takes place on Saturday, November 6, at Booths Park off Chelford Road.

Gates open at 6.30pm ahead of the firework display at 7.30pm.

Tickets can be bought in advance online here or from Mr Simms Sweet Shop in King Street, Knutsford.

Visitors can use the code 'scouts21' to claim a discount on advance tickets.

Tickets on the night will be £8. Advance tickets are £6.50.

There will be free parking, hot food and drinks and local business stalls.

NORTHWICH

Firefest organised by Northwich Rotary Club and Northwich Round Table, and with help from Ladies Circle and Northwich Town Council.

Rupert Adams, president of Northwich Rotary, says: “In order to be Covid secure we have reduced capacity and will encourage visitors to keep within family and friend groups.

“Firefest is a great way to enjoy fireworks in a safe environment and we remind visitors that for safety reasons they must not bring alcohol or any of their own fireworks onto the site.”

The gates at Verdin Park open at 5.30pm with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm and the firework display itself at 7.15pm.

Adult tickets are £7 with children's tickets at £3. Children in pushchairs and babies are free.

Blakemere's Firework & Laser Display 2021

An organiser said: "See the skies light up over the Cheshire countryside at our spectacular firework and mini laser displays with a fabulous professional firework display brought to you by Ignite Pyrotechnics Ltd.

"Also, walk through Cheshire Woodlands and enjoy mini choreographed family laser light show, set waterside."

Gates at open in Blakemere Village, Chester Road, at 5.15pm on Saturday, November 6, with the laser show running at regular intervals between 5.30pm and 8pm.

The fireworks display will start at 7pm.

Tickets, which are pre-book only, are £7 for adults, £5 for under 16s and free for under twos.

A family ticket, for two adults and two children, is £21.

WINSFORD

Fireworks Spectacular held by the Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club and the Neuromuscular Centre.

A Rotary spokesman said: “After not being able to have our annual Bonfire Night Celebration last year due to Covid-19, the Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club are pleased to announce that we are back for 2021!

"This year the Rotary Club is pleased to be holding the event jointly with the Neuro Muscular Centre and all profits will be shared by these two worthy causes."

The event will take place at Winsford United’s ground, Barton Stadium, on Saturday, October 30.

Gates open at 6pm and the bonfire will be lit at around 7pm.

Entry fee is £6 for adults, £3 for children or £15 for a family ticket (two adults and a maximum of three children) and available on the gate.

MIDDLEWICH

Bonfire & Firework Display at Middlewich Cricket Club.

A cricket club spokesman said: "The cricket club's famous bonfire and fireworks night returns to Middlewich this year and we are so excited to be able to invite you all back to the club for this great event."

Taking place at the Croxton Lane club on Saturday, November 6, gates to the event open at 6pm before the bonfire is lit at 7.30pm and the fireworks display at 8pm.

There will be stalls for the kiddies such as hook-a-duck and face painting, games and toys including light sticks; for the adults there is a body shop stall.

Food will include candy floss, jerk chicken, pizzas, burgers, hot desserts, cakes and hot drinks.

Tickets are £6 for adults, £3 for children (under 16) and £5 for over 65s. A family ticket (two adults and two children) is £15. Cash and card payments will be accepted on the night.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the cricket club.
