DEDICATED traders are once again teaming up to encourage people to shop local.

Independent businesses in Knutsford are joining the Totally Locally National River Fest to celebrate all the unique retailers, pubs, restaurants, cafes and market stalls which make the town so special.

Residents are urged to show their support to individual outlets and the local hospitality trade in the campaign which runs until October 23.

If every adult in Knutsford spent just £5 per week in their local independent shops and businesses, it would mean £2.6 million per year going directly into the local economy.

This can lead to more jobs, a stronger high street, a improved economy and a nicer place to live.

Sandra Curties, town centre and marketing officer at Knutsford Town Council, said “Fiver Fest is now one of our key regular promotions.

"The independent shops and businesses are what makes our town special and unique.

It's a chance for the community to say thank you to all the small guys who stayed open throughout the pandemic and pride themselves on offering personal customer service.
