KEEN bakers have raised more than £2,000 for charity through a cake sale and coffee mornings.
Knutsford Bake Club held the fundraisers to support national cancer charity Macmillan.
Each year the club has managed to surpass the previous year's total and 2021 was no different as members raised a superb £2,400 for the charity.
Coffee morning organiser Dee Griffiths said: “This year we were able to use the town’s landmark cinema, the Curzon, and the atmosphere of coffee, cake and chat was uplifting.
"We are so happy to help others through organising events with Macmillan. Their support team, in particular Sarah Peet, really make hosting an event fun."
The event, which took place at the Curzon Cinema, in Toft Road, on September 9, was attended by town mayor Cllr Stewart Gardiner, who praised the teamwork behind it.
Nicola Arnell, co- host, said fundraising is in her blood. She added: “We are local bakers who love to support the community, and Macmillan support is used by so many.
"I particularly feel that the local musicians, Paul Langley and Mark Radcliffe, lend us their support as we all help each other in Knutsford.”
As well as cake sales and the event at the Curzon, the money was raised through donations, gift aid and a satellite coffee morning at The Brookstreet Club.
