IT has been a terrific season for Styal Golf Club junior member Isabella Taylor-Stokes.

To cap it off, she was victorious among some of the country’s best golfers of her age having conquered the county’s top players.

Taylor-Stokes won the under 14s category at the North of England under 16s Open Amateur Strokeplay Championships at Heswall Golf Club.

She posted rounds of 74, 73, 71 and 74 for a total of 292, which saw her finish seven shots clear of her nearest rival.

That came hot on the heels of her winning the under 14s Scratch Trophy at the Cheshire Girls Championship held at Prestbury

The 14-year-old has also reduced her handicap to scratch this season, represented Cheshire at junior level and acquitted herself well playing for Cheshire Ladies at the County Match Week.

Taylor-Stokes was also runner-up in the Sir William Bailey Trophy at the Cheshire Ladies Championships held at Bramhall.

Back at Styal, Jonathan Dorsett needed a card play-off to win the latest Sunday Stableford as he finished tied on 38 points with Zoe Evans.

Anthony Guy, Jeffrey Chadwick and Robert Coatham finished a point further back.

Daniel Rothel took home the Colin Richards Memorial prize with a score of 62 points – two clear of Ged Stevens with Anthony Karwat a further two back.

The Styal women played a Grannies Stableford in which Diana Hutchinson edged out Donna O’Reilly via a card play-off after both finished on 39, one more than Sheila Harrison.

Over at Alderley Edge, David Slater was the proud winner of the Captain’s Trophy – his score of 39 saw him finish clear of Rob Chadwick (37) and Alex Campbell (36)

In a women’s Stableford at Alderley Edge, Wendy Dent was streets ahead of the field as she posted a massive total of 45.

She finished eight clear of Lesley Smith and Jo Pratt. Heather Godfrey (16) was the nine-hole winner.
