THE lights are about to go up once again at The Green Room Theatre, Wilmslow, for the company’s opening event of their new season.

‘We’re Open’ includes three different evenings of entertainment to celebrate

Bookings are now open for September 23 – a rehearsed play reading of Alan Ayckbourn’s ‘Confusions’, a series of short plays where complications and confusions abound.

September 24 will be a film night with the screening of Jacques Tati’s 1953 comic masterpiece Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday.

September 25 offers ‘Together Again’, a reprise of the Gawsworth Hall outdoor performance celebrating the lifting of restrictions – a mix of sketches, poems and excerpts from plays The Green Room has performed over the years.

Celia Bonner, one of the directors of ‘We’re Open’ commented: “We are all looking forward to reopening the theatre after 18 months of lockdown and welcoming our audiences back with our ‘We’re Open’ event.

“We wanted to provide a safe and easy way for our audiences to return to the theatre and with short plays by Alan Ayckbourn, a film night and an evening of sketches, poems and excerpts from some of our favourite plays we think that there’s something there for everyone.”

Each of the three night’s performances lasts no longer than 60 to 90 minutes with no interval and tickets for each evening are £5.

People are welcome to wear a face covering throughout the show or when moving around the theatre and seating will be unreserved so that people can choose where they sit.

The Green Room is also part of the See It Safely scheme.

The bar will be open each evening.

Drinks will be served in plastic glasses that may be taken into the auditorium.

Doors will open at 7pm and the auditorium at 7.15pm.
