THE depth of talent at junior level for the Cheshire Golf Union continues to thrive and comprehensive wins for the Cheshire Boys shows the depth of talent that exists in the county, well supported by the coaches and organisers at this level.

Youngsters from Sandiway Golf Club and Delamere Forest Golf Club made some valuable contributions.

The first big win for the mixed age team was against Derbyshire at the tricky Glossop Golf Club and, led by County Junior Captain Matthew Dodd-Berry (Royal Liverpool), they won the foursomes 4-2 and followed this with a huge 10-2 singles success for a final winning margin of 14-4.

The under 16s played Staffordshire at Astbury and cruised to a 4-1 win in the foursomes.

They followed this up by winning the singles 8-2 for a winning score of 12-3, with the biggest win of the day coming from Todd McKie (Carden Park) by 7/8.

The next mixed age match was against Staffordshire Boys at Leek GC and with the top players involved in national competitions there was the opportunity to blood some new talent.

Led by Sam Hall (Styal) and Adam Carr (Sale) the team got off to an impressive 4.5-1.5 win in the foursomes and followed this by another big singles success of 7-4 with wins for Sam Hall, Adam Carr, Joel Cann (Sandiway), Jack Bent (Bramhall), Oscar Craig (Sandiway) and Aaron Lavelle (Delamere Forest) backed by halves from Jack McCrindle (Royal Liverpool) and Daniel Myers (Reddish Vale).
