A NEW £400,000 Specsavers will be replacing a popular Winsford beauty store.

Bodycare, based at the Cross Shopping Centre, shut at 4pm on July 31 as the shop’s lease is ending and has reportedly not been renewed.

Specsavers had opened a temporary branch in Dingle Walk while the move to their new permanent location is finalised.

The opticians have made a £400,000 investment to improve the and expand in their new location, which will look to open in September.

Optometry director at Specsavers Winsford, Emma Ford, said the improvements will ‘transform the experience provided to the local community’.

She added: "This investment gives us the ability to enhance customer experience and the hearing and optical services we offer.

“This new location will also help to create further career opportunities in the longer term, which will be widespread across the team in both optics and audiology.”

Winsford residents are expected to benefit from increased availability for appointments, additional services, and the improved facilities.

There will be an increased number of test rooms, enhanced optical services and the store will also offer a higher number of CUES (urgent eye care services).

Additionally, the business will also have more availability to offer customers an enhanced sight test using OCT (optical coherence tomography) technology.

The temporary store will remain open throughout August, until work on the permanent location finishes.
