LIVE music and the chance to taste 19 different ciders is the treat in store at a special summer celebration.

Middlewich Cider Festival is back and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

This popular event takes place at The Kings Lock, Booth Lane on July 30 and 31.

The festival hasn't been held since 2019 due to the pandemic.

Josh Hicks, from Middlewich Round Table, said: "We are delighted to be putting the festival back on this year.

"We are grateful to the Kings Lock for allowing us to use their outdoor events space.

"We will have live music on the Saturday afternoon and evening.

"Money raised will be donated to local charitable causes in Middlewich."

Three sessions are being held, one on Friday evening and two on Saturday.

A grooving gourmet event will be feature dishes served by Sunshine Street Food Company on Friday, with a disco of music from the 80s and 90s by DJ Dizzy.

Frank Quilty Duo, Tom from Vicar's Son, Darren Roberts and Fifth Column will be on stage on Saturday afternoon.

The Thingyoes and Photobooth Smile will be performing on Saturday evening.

Tickets are £10 and include two half pints and a festival glass.

Cider will be on sale priced £1.50 a half pint as well as the usual bar selection.
