THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of county lines drug dealing following a police stop check.

A 46-year-old woman from Northwich, and a woman aged 43, and man aged 46, from Liverpool were arrested at around 11.30pm on Monday, July 5, after officers stopped a Kia Rio near to the A556 in Peover.

While searching the car officers from Northwich Local Policing Unit discovered a quantity of what is believed to be crack cocaine and heroin.

All three occupants were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

The 43-year-old driver of the car was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

Sergeant Dave Christmas, of Northwich Local Policing Unit, said: “These arrests are a great results and are part of our ongoing efforts to tackle organised crime and make Cheshire a hostile place for criminals.

“From our initial enquiries it appears that the trio are involved in County Lines drug dealing and have been transporting drugs into the Northwich area from Merseyside.

“Thankfully, they have all been arrested and will now face the consequences of their actions.

“I hope that their arrests sends out a clear message to other offenders who are planning to come to Northwich to commit crime, you will be caught and you will face the consequences.
