IT is the eve of Father’s Day – we’re used to saying that for Christmas but there is no reason we cannot celebrate this in a similar vein.

After what has been a testing 12 months for dads across the UK and Cheshire, we thought we would run down six of the best ways you can help your dad or father figure enjoy Father’s Day in the area.

Treat box delivery

If you want a chilled day inside, not moving a muscle, then Kerri & Katie’s Cakes have you covered for deliveries.

They are fully booked for afternoon teas, but if any treat boxes are wanted, they can still provide them.

Delivery is included in the price within a five-mile radius of Leftwich, outside that, there is a small charge.

Additionally, Kala’s Cake Creations can help you out with that last minute present for Father’s Day. Cupcakes are available to order for delivery or collection tomorrow, with free delivery in Hartford.

Football at home

Forget 'Football’s Coming Home', it could be all about football at home if you dad is a fan of relaxed Father’s Days.

Get him a few beers in and some food on the go, and with the choice of Italy vs Wales, or Switzerland vs Turkey on the TV at 5pm, it is a solid approach to the evening.

Go out

Perhaps not 'out out', on a Sunday night, but if you want to take your dad out and book in at a pub or restaurant that has a Father’s Day menu, you can rarely go wrong.

Nantwich’s Badger Inn are providing a three-course meal for £25. Table bookings and pre ordering is required. www.badgerinn.co.uk

BEAR in Northwich are also providing the brunch or coffee and cake side of things, you can book here.

Trip to the woods

If you want to compensate for all the family on Father’s Day and go further afield than the comfort of your own home, BeWilderwood still have tickets available to host your family adventure.

The Whitchurch woodland is a great way to please everyone – if dad is welcome to the idea, of course.

Garden centre visit

So, you don’t want to take your dad to a pub, bar, out for a long walk, or stay in, what other options are there?

Well, garden centres like High Legh and Primrose Hill Nurseries in Knutsford will be open for the majority of the day and ready to cater for your dads eye for plants, or maybe even just a coffee and a bite to eat at High Legh. A rather relaxing day out.

Cook something up

If none of that tickles your fancy, you can always cook for your dad at home.

BBC Good Food has recipes to keep everyone happy, especially the father figure.

They have breakfast ideas to suit everyone from Eggs Benedict pancakes to Easy banana muffins and French toast bacon butties.

If the Father’s Day weather plays nice, why not fire up the barbecue and head to BBC Good Food for advice and inspiration for special treats including Barbecued pork and tasty Easy vegan burgers?

The weather might mean staying indoors, so a classic Sunday roast is the perfect way to celebrate. For Sunday dinner with a special twist, try steak and all the trimmings inside one giant Yorkie. For a more classic affair, the succulent slow roast chicken is super simple to prepare. Roast dinners don’t have to be all about the meat, a veggie centrepiece can also make it a meal to remember.
