A WOMAN has said how disgusted she is with the actions of a company she paid to remove waste from her home.

Jennifer Hussey, who has just moved to a property in Little Warford, found the firm after making an enquiry on the community Facebook group, Knutsford Life.

She explains: "My partner and I were in the process of moving in together so we were sorting out the garage.

"There was obviously a lot of stuff, including old furniture etc.

"As I'm quite new to the area, I put on Knutsford Life that I was looking for recommendations for garden and garage waste removal companies.

"There were lots of recommendations as you'd imagine and one of them was for a company called Xtreme Cleaning."

She approached the company, asked them for a quote, which they provided promptly and told her they would be in the area that same afternoon.

"There was so much we wanted removing so they came that same day," Jennifer added.

"They told me they had their waste disposal license and when they came, they were very nice and very professional.

"Their van was already quite full at the time and I was surprised they were able to fit in all our stuff.

All seemed well and a job well done, until three weeks later from Jennifer's partner received a letter through the door from Halton Borough Council.

It said an item belonging to him (a cardboard box with his name and address on) has been found dumped with other items on the the Dock Road in Widnes.

"It was a Screwfix that had John's name and address on.

"I telephoned the council straight away and explained to them what had happened.

"She told me how the area in question is a fly tipping hotspot.

"I have also contacted the company to let them know how disgusted I was.

"Fly-tipping is something my partner and I feel extremely passionate about.

"The council seemed really appreciative of us helping them out and they seemed to accept that it was a genuine mistake on our part."

A spokesman for Xtreme Cleaning said: "This happened without my knowledge and I'm equally disgusting in what has happened and I'm totally against fly tipping.

"My business is built on trust, reputation and recommendations I have no reason what so ever to illegally fly tip.

"I'm taking the right steps to resolve this I have also contacted Halton Council and have dealt with the person I think could be responsible for this.

"I'm still not 100 per cent sure how this has happened as I still have her waste and the waste in the fly tipping picture could be that of other people fly tipping."

Halton Borough have also been approached for a comment.
