HIGHER demands for netball opportunities are being catered for at Knutsford Leisure Centre.

Outdoor artificial grass courts were created during the lockdown period and with indoor facilities now open again following the easing of restrictions there is space to accommodate more players.

During the recent closure, the leisure centre team added lines to the artificial pitch to allow adult and junior netball sessions to take place outdoors.

Emma Pike, coach at Knutsford Netball Club, is loving the new outdoor playing area.

She said: “Lockdown has been tough on netball as we would usually have trained indoors throughout the summer and winter.

"With restrictions not allowing us back into the leisure centre, we would have struggled without the new artifical grass courts.

"With Knutsford Netball Club expanding with new members joining throughout 2020, we have needed all three of the outdoor courts.

"It has meant we have been able to train and play practice matches when we have been able to.

"The courts are great and the floodlights have helped when the weather has been bad.

"We'd strongly recommend them to any club wanting to get back to training and playing netball again."

Knutsford Leisure Centre have availability for netball bookings.
