TEAM members from a gentlemen’s hair salon have been selected as finalists for a prestigious industry award.

Crate Cheshire opened in Minshull Street, Knutsford, in August, following the launch of a Northwich branch in 2018.

The team is thrilled to be recognised as part of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy.

Charles Rose, director of Crate Cheshire, said: “We are delighted for two of our team to have made it into the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2020 Men’s Image Award Grand Final.

“The brief was to ‘create a well-executed, complementary colour showcasing a male look.

“‘This must be complemented by a well finished style and total look taking inspiration from upcoming trends’.

“L’Oréal received thousands of entries and to have made it to the final 16 is a huge achievement for an independent salon.”

Charles Rose and Jordan Gaskell will now compete for a chance to win a trip to New York to recreate the winning look.

Charles added: “Unfortunately due to Covid-19, the competition will be taking place virtually, however we will be shooting our final looks and images on Sunday, May 16 and will be sure to share our final images and any competition updates through our social media channels.”

Crate Cheshire has two branches in the county.

Charles left behind the London life to set up his debut Gentlemen’s hair salon in Northwich in July 2018, and more recently branched out to Knutsford in August 2020.

He added: “At Crate Cheshire, we strive to bring the salon experience to men’s hairdressing, through offering a full range of men’s hair services and barbering, in a salon environment.

“Our team are passionate about delivering a world class service to every customer who comes through our doors and producing high quality men’s haircuts through taking their time to understand the client’s hair and recommending styles and products tailored to their needs.”

The L’Oréal Colour Trophy awards showcase some of the best hairdressing talents from salons across the country, ‘whilst ensuring that hairdressers nationwide are continually inspired to celebrate hair inspired by fashion’.
