TALENTED photographers in Knutsford have been busy with two major competitions recently.

Members of Knutsford Photographic Society (KPS) gathered on Zoom to witness some excellent photography as part of the online events.

A spokesperson said: "The annual 'In Cheshire' competition for images all captured in our picturesque county was the first to be judged.

"Nearly thirty club members participated in what is clearly becoming a challenging annual event.

"Faced with Covid restrictions and lockdowns, members did their best to come up with images that represented Cheshire.

"The judge for the evening was Darrel Oakden, from the Alsager CC who had a tough task in choosing his shortlist.

"Darrel was very keen to give advice about composition and creativity before finally announcing his top three.

"First place went to John Cridland for The Cage at Lyme Park, second was Wayne Clarke for Tatton Hall and third place went to Mervyn Harrison for Jodrell Bank in Late Autumn Sun.

"Three members were also awarded commendations and these went to Roger Hulme, Joe Morris and Trevor Hosking.

"The second competition of the evening was the annual Triptych event which again was well supported with some thirty images on display.

"Again, the quality was high and members showed strong creative skills and outstanding ability to convey a storey with just three images.

"Darrel faced the challenge well and finally awarded first place to Stuart Webster for Imagine Visualise Capture.

"In second place was Tim Banks for Three Trees Through the Winter and third place went to Rosie Bradley for Autumn Colour.

"Five members were also commended: Gordon Spruce, Roger Hulme, Mervyn Harrison, Stuart Webster and Joe Morris.

"Further information about KPS can be found at knutsfordps.org.uk and new members are always welcome."
