A DIGITAL agency which struggled at the start of the Covid pandemic has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround and is now looking to bring something unique to Knutsford’s high street.
JAW Digital, which specialises in web design and online marketing, saw around 60 per cent of its business disappear overnight when the country was plunged into lockdown last March.
But managing director Wayne Berry and his team worked hard to reinvent the business and they were able to open the country's first walk-in web design shop in Hale.
Now after seeing the success of the shop, Wayne, from Plumley, is looking at opening a second premises in Knutsford.
“We really struggled at first during the first lockdown,” said the 38-year-old. “We have a lot of clients in dental care, hair transplants and cosmetic surgery.
“So when all the clinics closed, around 60 per cent of our business dried up overnight.
“We had to really think on our feet and come up with different ways in which people might need help in growing their businesses.
“I was on the verge of maybe letting staff go, but we got stuck in and turned it around to the point I didn’t need to furlough anyone and we managed to grow.”
Wayne has already looked at two possible locations in the town.
He added: “We’re looking to target Knutsford now.
“We’re a full-service digital agency, so we do everything from the contact and design of a brand through to website design and search engine optimisation.
“We can take any business, regardless of their size and budget, and get them a decent presence online.
“I seized the opportunity to get a shop in the high street and it has proved to be a new concept and driven us forward.
“It’s really revolutionised the business and being a Knutsford resident I thought, that’s my next target. We can do this in Knutsford.
“We’re hoping to press go in the next couple of months and be in there in, if not late 2021, early 2022.
“We’re serving people in their own back yards and I think Knutsford would be ideal for our second shop.
“It’s full of entrepreneurs, it’s full of established and up-and-coming businesses and still got that affluent village vibe where there’s people looking to grow and invest."
Once the Knutsford branch is secured, Wayne would be looking to employ local people in the town.
He added: “I love to employ local people and I’d love to put it out there that we’re looking to recruit young digital superstars from Knutsford to work in the town as well."
