A MEMBER of Handforth Parish Council who went viral after he shouted at acting clerk Jackie Weaver during a meeting has resigned.
The parish council confirmed that Aled Brewerton, who represented the West Ward, had resigned from his position via its website.
This comes just days after Cllr Brian Tolver stood down as chairman.
A statement posted on the Handforth Parish Council website reads: "Following the resignation of Cllr Aled Brewerton there is now a second vacancy in the West Ward.
"This may be filled by co-option or by election, the latter taking place if 10 electors of the Parish give notice to the Returning Office within 14 days of the Notice."
A video of the now-infamous council meeting went viral after it erupted into arguments between some councillors and Mrs Weaver.
Cllr Brewerton shouted: "Read the standing orders, read them and understand them."
Millions of people have watched the video on YouTube, which included shouting, a disruptive phone call and councillors being kicked out.
During the meeting Cllr Tolver said: "You have no authority here, Jackie Weaver. No authority at all."
