THERE are just a handful of days to go before polling day on 6 May in Cheshire East.

One of two candidates nominated for election as councillor for the Wilmslow Town Council - Lacey Green Ward - is Simon Bullock.

Helping local businesses thrive and flourish is why community-based firefighter Simon - Independent, Residents of Wilmslow (RoW) - is standing in the latest election.

Styal-based Simon, who lives with his wife and daughter, has lived in the area most of his life and has been a key member of the sporting community through his 26-year involvement in local rugby.

Simon’s aim is to better the town centre and surrounding areas through public transport links and better sporting facilities for the town.

“I would like to see improvement within Wilmslow town centre and the surrounding areas,” he said.

“I feel in recent years there’s some neglect in various aspects of the town, both physically and community related, such as improving bus routes and availability and other public transport.

“I’d like to help local businesses to thrive and flourish within the town and the surroundings areas and to address the ongoing parking and highway issues.

“I would also like to see more facilities for the younger, high-school-age generation who are often short of things to do or places to go.”

Simon also wants to address ongoing parking and highway issues.

“I believe I have the tenacity and drive to help push forward ideas and work towards a collective goal as opposed to a personal agenda," he added.
