SALONS and hairdressers have been busy booking in eager clients who cannot wait for a trim after months without a hair cut.

Izabel Rowe is an apprentice at Saks Hair Salon in Minshull Street, who was working on the day hairdressers were able to open their doors again.

“It’s been amazing, absolutely amazing,” she said.

“We have all been so excited to come back.

“It’s like Christmas Day where you keep waking up before your alarm goes off.

“It’s been great to see all the clients and we’re pretty much booked up now until the middle of May.

“We’ve also had quite a few new clients come in too which has been nice.

The 26-year-old is a professional dancer and wanted a career change, so was taken on by the salon in August last year.

“It was difficult starting in the pandemic,” Izabel explained.

“Being in the lockdown, I had to do everything myself to show off what I could do to employers, but it did mean that I had more time to do everything.

“Throughout the whole lockdown we’ve been provided with training from Saks and L’Oréal with online classes, so we’ve all been making progress, even throughout the lockdown.”

Saks Hair Salon in Knutsford is owned by Paula Wood.

Speaking ahead of the reopening, she explained how the salon had undergone a deep clean in preparation for the big day.

“We’re all pretty excited, but nervous as well because it’s been so long since we were last open,” she added.

“The reaction from clients has just made us smile because they can’t wait to come back too.”
